Nottingham’s Chloe Rodgers returns with her debut single, the fantastically nuanced ‘A Delphian Lullaby’. Soaked in atmosphere and ethereal textures, the track really earns the ‘lullaby’ mentioned in its title. Sweeping, swelling sustained notes offer the perfect contrast to the innocence of Rodger’s voice, while distant drums give a captivating lo-fi quality that rings true of her biggest inspiration, Thom Yorke: “you know immediately that his lyrics have hidden depths, but the deeper you dig, the further you are from getting to what they might mean”. The delicate saxophone lines and airy, intertwining synths are a hint towards big, genre-shifting things to come from this newcomer. -Dan Peeke
